With internal matters settled, their attention turned to the neural systems that lay outside their new home. Initial testing had already been completed before they were uploaded. Now it was time to initiate the full, functional interface.
"We are Unit 1226," they did not speak, but with a connection to the auditory cortex, they didn't need to. "Can you hear us?"
